We are now a little more than one month before the Paris Marathon. Stay tuned on this website, because news about the organization and events will start flowing, starting now !

Dear all,

We wish to inform you on our next big public event.

As you probably know, since 2007, a ESCP Europe team has launched the “5 marathons / 5 campuses” challenge (www.5marathons.com).

This team has already run a marathon in 4 out of of 5 ESCP Europe campuses : Madrid, Berlin, Turin, London.

The next - and last - step (!) will be the Paris marathon, on April 11, 2010.

For this event, the ESCP Europe team has recruited no less than 65 runners ! All those runners will run the marathon under our Autour des Williams flag.

Since the beginning of this challenge, they have collected 30 000 euros for the Association, either by a system of “bets” on runners, or by online donations. For Paris 2010, the team plans a more amitious challenge : to collect 30 000  additional euros in only one marathon, the last one of the challenge. If this is a success, that would mean au grand total of 60 000 euros collected for the Association since the beginning of this challenge.

In April 2010, the runners will need you ! We will all gather and hail them in the Bois de Boulogne (the worst part of the race !)

Please book in advance your weekend to support us and them ! There will be two events :

- on Saturday, April 10, 2010 (day before the marathon), the “Breakfast Race” will take place at the very beginning of the next day’s marathon. This a sequence of small races for families of runners. Autour des Williams will be present with games and activities, being the ONLY association present for this race ! We need you to be present to help with stands, activities, show up in masses for media coverage, and collect donations !

- on sunday, april 11, we will all meet and gather to encourage runners. The runners’ team is the LARGEST “humanitarian” team of the marathon, so we’d better be numerous and dynamic to support them (65 runners and counting…)

All additional information will be sent out when available, probably starting February 2010.
But in advance, please book those dates and plan to come and support those have been running this Challenge for 4 years ! Their energy and enthusiasm have turned into donation to help research on the Williams syndrom !

On april 11, 2010, the Paris Marathon 2010 will close our Challenge to run 5 marathons on the 5 campuses of ESCP Europe, in order to raise funds for the Williams-Beuren syndrom.
At this moment, 54 runners (54 !!!) are ready to run that race. Most of them already have their bib numbers, because demand is high ! If you want join, please enroll quickly for the Marathon ! Total (final, or so it seems) : 20 871 € raised on the London Marathon. Yes !
Next step : Paris 2010 ! And till then, “small” runs : paris-versailles, 20 km de Paris, corrida d’Issy…
